Diigo “Group Forums” is here

April 5th, 2007

We’ve just rolled out the new Diigo Group Forums. Now each group can host its own group forums. This allows your group members to initiate and carry on discussions on subjects of interest that may not be appropriate as notes on a single resource.

Although this is only the first phase of our forum implementation, and doesn’t quite have all the bells and whistles yet, Diigo Group Forums is quite unique in its design, just like all of our features :-)

There are 2 modes of structuring your Group Forums:

1) Traditional “Category” method: the Group Manager may decide to
organize forum posts according to pre-defined categories, or

2) “Tagging” method: this mode allows group members to tag each of their
own posts as they see fit. The latter method, while potentially less
tightly organized, harnesses the power of tagging in a forum setting.

Group Manager, you can enable your group forums by clicking “Manage
Forum” and selecting your setting preference.

So, give it a try, and let us know what you think!

I’d like to encourage people to start joining our “Diigo Community” public group, where you can share your review, tips, tricks, and ideas for using Diigo, and discuss our features, ideas for new features, anything Diigo related. We’ll soon phase out our old user forums, so start posting your questions, feedback … over here.

We’re going to be quite “social” in Diigo’s own unique ways. Lots more to come, so join us now :-)

This is an AWESOME feature that truely brings the ’social’ to Diigo.
You should change the ‘Diigo user forum’ link on the main Diigo.com page.
